Update on Harrison Road closure
I've had a letter from Hampshire County Council about this. I don't know how many other people have received it, so here is a brief summary:
Harrison Road will be closed on schooldays in the morning 8:15 to 9:00, and in the afternoon 2:45 to 3:30. In theory this will start on 19th July and be in effect "until at least the end of October". Of course the Summer Holidays started on the 16th July, so in practice this really only starts on the 6th September. (Quite why the Council felt the need to have this run over the Summer holidays is left unexplained).
During the closures only residents and people visiting them will be able to drive on Harrison Road, and the speed limit will be 5mph. More details can be found here. Parents and carers dropping off or collecting children will not be allowed in.
The question for the Estate is: will parents try to drive down William Price Gardens to drop their children off at the bottom. It isn't going to take very many cars coming down here to completely block the road, and in the morning many residents will be trying to drive out to get to work. We will monitor this situation, and if problems do develop we will ask Hampshire County Council to allocate a warden or two to the top of our road.
